Training at the Highest Level

While the valleys below are still enjoying the warmth of autumn sunshine, winter sports season is already underway at Alpin Arena Schnals. On the Schnals Glacier, at an altitude of 3,212 metres, professional skiers and snowboarders from around the world are benefiting from outstanding conditions as they prepare for the season ahead. Perfectly groomed slopes, reliable snow conditions and the high-altitude location make the training centre one of the most sought-after destinations for pre-season training in international winter sports.

Numerous national teams have set up their training camps in Schnals. World-class athletes from Sweden, Japan, Spain, Australia, Norway and Argentina are currently training on the glacier’s slopes. They are joined by, among others, a Swiss team, the French Para team and the Canadian snowboard squad.

Many renowned athletes also rely on the exceptional training facilities and conditions offered by Alpin Arena Schnals. Among the prominent names currently training here are US superstar Mikaela Shiffrin, Canada’s 2023 World Slalom Champion Laurence St.-Germain, South Tyrolean skiing star Christoph Innerhofer, and the team surrounding Slovakia’s 2022 Olympic Slalom Champion Petra Vlhová.
