GERMAN MEDIA

Newspapers, periodicals and magazines – For generations, Athesia has been the leading publisher of German-language print media in South Tyrol.

A STRONG VOICE FOR SOUTH TYROL
RELIABLE. TRUSTED. INFORMED.

Dolomiten – The Daily Voice of South Tyrol: As the region’s longest-established and highest-circulation daily newspaper „Dolomiten“ has been accompanying the people of South Tyrol with reliable information and a clear editorial stance for over a century. Its daily reporting is complemented by a wide range of periodical print publications, including „Dolomiten“-Magazin, the business publication Wirtschaftskurier „WIKU“, the advertising and information paper „Dolomiten“-Markt, as well as special editions such as „Dolomiten“-Spezial and „Dolomiten“-EXTRA. The newspaper’s origins date back to 1882. It has had an eventful and at times dramatic history. The newspaper has been renamed several times: from its original name „Der Tiroler“ to „Der Landsmann“ and finally to „Dolomiten“.

Journals and Magazines: Our journals and magazines are deeply rooted in South Tyrol as well: The five district newspapers cover local stories and topics from urban and rural areas, while the business magazine“ Radius“ focuses on specialist topics. The Sunday paper „Zett“ provides information and entertainment for the weekend. The portfolio also includes „Das Katholische Sonntagsblatt“, „Die Südtiroler Frau“ and „Der Schlern“ – long-established magazines with a clear thematic focus and loyal readership. The journal „angulus“ informs a specialist audience in South Tyrol and beyond, about architecture and building culture in the Alpine region.

Radio: Since 2017, the Athesia Group has held a 50 percent stake in Funkhaus GmbH, which operates the radio stations Südtirol 1 and Radio Tirol as well as RMI’s news programme Südtirol Journal. In 2026, Athesia will also acquire the remaining 50 per cent, thereby strengthening the broadcasting division within the group. The private radio stations of Bartls Holding GmbH – comprising Die Antenne Südtirol, Radio 2000, Radio Edelweiss and Stadtradio Bozen – will also be integrated into the Group in 2026.

The weekly newspaper „Der Tiroler“ is first published. After an eventful history, it becomes the daily newspaper „Dolomiten“
