The high-altitude Alpin Arena Schnals with its glacier cable cars and lifts (Schnalstaler Gletscherbahnen) has been part of the Athesia Group since 2014 and has been majority-owned since 2018. This snow-sure ski area offers 42 km of slopes and 11 lifts – perfect for families and leisure skiers as well as professional athletes. A true highlight: the glacier cable car with its rooftop viewing platform – a spectacular summer experience. New cable cars were installed in 2023, followed by the modernization of the base station and a new restaurant in 2024.
Sports enthusiasts will find challenging mountain tours as well as countless hiking and excursion options. Among them: the adventurous Larix via ferrata with suspension bridges and sky ladders, alongside the scenic Alpin Trail. At 3,251 metres, the Iceman Ötzi Peak viewing platform offers impressive panoramas. The Lazaun mountain carts provide fast-paced downhill fun. At the Caravan Park, the highest-altitude camper site in Europe, visitors can experience nature and freedom up close.
