Athesia Group’s broadcasting division continues to grow with the acquisition of the shareholdings of Bartls Holding GmbH as well as those of Bartl and Lukas Thaler. As a result, the private radio stations Die Antenne Südtirol, Radio 2000, Radio Edelweiß and Stadtradio Bozen will soon become part of the Athesia Group. The corresponding agreement was signed in recent days by Georg Ebner, CDO of the Athesia Group, together with the Thaler family, the current owners.

Commenting on the transaction, Lukas Thaler said: “This step opens up a long-term and stable perspective for our stations. Cooperation with the Athesia Group offers new opportunities to sustainably develop our programming, strengthen our regional roots and make even better use of existing synergies. At the same time, it is particularly important to me to emphasise that everyone who has built and shaped Radio 2000, Die Antenne Südtirol and Radio Edelweiß over many years deserves great respect and recognition. Our current team likewise merits sincere thanks and appreciation for what has been achieved together and will continue to be achieved.”

Both parties have been in dialogue for some time regarding possible forms of closer cooperation. For the Athesia Group, this represents a logical step, as the Group has been active in regional private broadcasting for many years.

Through the joint development of the stations, Athesia aims to secure a credible and contemporary media offering for the future. The existing brands and programmes will remain clearly positioned, while at the same time benefiting from synergies within the Group.
