The daily newspaper l’Adige has named Lorenzo Delladio, Chief Executive Officer of La Sportiva, “Manager Trentino of the Year”.
The long-established family business from the Fiemme Valley is now one of Italy’s leading manufacturers of sportswear and footwear, employing around 500 people. Family-owned since 1928, La Sportiva is set to be continued by the next generation – a commitment that Delladio reaffirmed at the award ceremony. The jury particularly recognised his ability to operate successfully on an international level while at the same time strengthening the company’s deep regional roots.
This year’s award ceremony was once again held in the impressive setting of Cantine Rotari in Mezzocorona – an event that serves as a key meeting point for figures from business, politics and public institutions. The evening was hosted by Pierluigi Depentori, Editor-in-Chief of the daily newspaper l’Adige, and Michela Baldessari, Director of Radio Dolomiti.
Further awards were presented in cooperation with partners: the title “Start-up of the Year”, in collaboration with Sparkasse, went to Cipay, a provider of digital payment systems. The insurance company Itas was honoured for its corporate welfare programmes (“People First”) in cooperation with the consultancy Praxi, while Elisa Calliari – climate researcher and UN negotiator – was named “Rising Manager of the Year” by the Accademia d’Impresa of the Trento Chamber of Commerce.
A special highlight of the evening was the keynote speech by Paolo Barilla, Vice Chairman of the internationally active Barilla Group and former Formula One driver, who skilfully drew parallels between the experiences, challenges and perspectives of entrepreneurship and those of the world of sport.
